The operational problem
Keys, fobs, and exceptions add up.
Many facilities still depend on mechanical keys, aging readers, or credential systems that nobody fully owns. When a person leaves, a contractor arrives, or a schedule changes, access becomes a manual task with gaps.
Electronic access control replaces that with defined rules: who can enter, where, and when, with a record of activity that facility and security teams can rely on.
Common pressures
Lost or unreturned keys and unmanaged credentials
Doors that cannot be scheduled, locked down, or audited
Legacy panels and readers that are difficult to expand or support
Separate systems for different buildings or tenants
Capabilities and services
What an access control system includes.
Scope is set by the doors, users, and policies you need to manage.
Readers and credentials
Card, fob, PIN, and mobile credential options matched to door types and user groups.
Controllers and door hardware
Controllers, electrified locks, strikes, request-to-exit devices, and door monitoring coordinated with the opening.
Access policies and schedules
Role-based access groups, time schedules, holiday rules, and lockdown procedures configured with your administrators.
Mobile access
Smartphone credentials where the selected platform supports them, reducing physical card handling.
Modernization and migration
Phased upgrades of existing doors, panels, and credentials so operations continue during the transition.
Audit reporting
Event history and reporting that supports internal reviews and incident follow-up.
Building system integration
Access control rarely works alone.
Doors are one part of a building system. We plan the connections early so they behave as one environment.
Video surveillance
Associate door events with camera views for faster verification.
Intercom and visitor entry
Release controlled doors from an intercom station after a visitor is verified.
Intrusion and alarm systems
Coordinate arming, alarms, and door status where the platforms support it.
Network and power
Reliable network connectivity and power for controllers, readers, and locks.
Commercial applications
Where commercial access control is used.
The same core system adapts to different operating requirements.
Office and commercial buildings
Tenant, suite, and after-hours access with schedules by group.
Schools and campuses
Perimeter and interior doors with the ability to restrict access quickly.
Healthcare facilities
Controlled areas, staff-only zones, and support spaces with audit history.
Government and municipal sites
Credentialed entry for staff, contractors, and restricted areas.
Multifamily and mixed-use properties
Common-area, amenity, and back-of-house access for residents and staff.
The FM Tech approach

FAQ
Useful answers for your next conversation.
Can you upgrade an existing access control system without replacing every door?
Often, yes. After assessing the existing readers, controllers, and wiring, we can recommend a phased approach that reuses compatible components and replaces only what limits reliability or growth.
What are mobile credentials?
Mobile credentials let users open doors with a smartphone instead of, or in addition to, a card or fob. Availability depends on the access control platform selected for your facility.
Can access control connect to cameras and intercoms?
Where the selected platforms support it, door events can be tied to camera views and intercom stations. We confirm compatibility during design.
Who manages credentials after installation?
Your designated administrators manage users and schedules. We configure the system and train your team, and we are available for service and changes.
