The operational problem

A large display is only as good as its specification.

LED walls that are too coarse for the viewing distance, too bright for the room, or fed by the wrong content sources disappoint quickly. The problem is rarely the panel alone.

A good LED wall starts with who is watching, from how far, and what will be shown, then works back to panel type, pixel pitch, processing, and structure.

Common pressures

  • Visible pixels because the pitch does not match viewing distance

  • Image quality that suffers from mismatched processors or sources

  • Walls that are difficult for staff to operate or update

  • Structure, power, and cabling that were not planned for the display

Capabilities and services

LED video wall systems we design and install.

Scope covers the display, the signal path, and the building around it.

  • Indoor and outdoor LED walls

Indoor panels for controlled lighting and weather-rated outdoor panels for exterior and high-ambient-light locations.

  • Direct-view LED technology

Seamless, bright, tile-based displays that scale to nearly any size and aspect ratio without bezels.

  • Pixel pitch and viewing distance

Pixel pitch is the spacing between LEDs in millimeters. As a common rule of thumb, finer pitch suits closer viewers and coarser pitch suits longer viewing distances.

  • Video processors and scalers

Processing that maps sources to the wall, handles odd aspect ratios, and manages brightness and color.

  • Content sources and control

Media players, computers, cameras, and presentation feeds routed to the wall and controlled by staff.

  • Installation and support

Mounting, power, cabling, calibration, training, and service after the wall is running.

Building system integration

An LED wall depends on the building around it.

Structure, power, and signal paths are planned alongside the display.

  • Commercial audio-video

Sound, control, and room systems that work with the wall.

  • Network infrastructure

Bandwidth and switching for networked sources and remote management.

  • Structured cabling

Signal and power paths coordinated with the wall location and equipment rooms.

  • Video surveillance and RTCC

Camera feeds and monitoring displays for operations and command centers.

Commercial applications

Where LED video walls apply.

Applications range from a lobby feature wall to a full command center.

  • Corporate and government

Lobbies, briefing rooms, boardrooms, and public-facing displays.

  • Public safety command centers

Video walls for monitoring, dispatch, and real-time crime center operations.

  • Churches and houses of worship

Sanctuary and stage LED walls for lyrics, video, and live camera feeds.

  • Hospitality and entertainment

Bars, restaurants, venues, and event spaces that depend on impactful visuals.

The FM Tech approach

Start with the audience and the content.

We size the wall to the room and how it will be used.

  1. Assess

Review the space, viewing distances, ambient light, and the content the wall must show.

  2. Design

Select panel type, pixel pitch, processing, sources, and structure for the room.

  3. Install

Mount, power, cable, and calibrate the wall and connect content sources.

  4. Support

Train operators and provide service as content and needs change.

FAQ

Useful answers for your next conversation.

What is a direct-view LED video wall?

A direct-view LED wall is built from LED tiles that emit light directly, without a projector or LCD panel, so the surface is seamless and can be sized to the space.

What is pixel pitch?

Pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters between the centers of adjacent LEDs. Finer pitch gives a sharper image at close range; coarser pitch is suited to longer viewing distances.

Do you install indoor and outdoor LED walls?

Yes. We specify indoor panels for interior spaces and weather-rated panels for outdoor or high-ambient-light locations.

Can an LED wall show multiple sources at once?

Yes. A video processor can place several sources on the wall in defined layouts, such as camera feeds, presentations, and live video.

Do you support the wall after installation?

Yes. We train operators and provide service and updates as your needs change.
